69, passed away on June 28, 2024, due to various serious injuries he sustained in an accident at his home in late July of 2023. Mark lived most of his life in Indianapolis, IN and more recently in Perdido Key, FL.

The youngest of seven children, Mark was born on July 9, 1954, on IndianapolisÉ«½ä³ÉÈËÖ±²¥™ east side into a large Catholic family. He attended Our Lady of Lourdes grade school, Cathedral High School, and graduated from Purdue University. Mark began his professional career as a teacher and coach prior to venturing into the business world where he started several companies, including Indiana Parcel Service, before moving into sales coaching and training. Mark had been a member of Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Matthew during his time in Indianapolis.

Mark enjoyed history, the Indianapolis 500, anything Purdue University related, football, golf, music, boating, travel, and spending time with his beloved family and friends. He had a knack for storytelling, along with his adventurous spirit and outgoing nature, and would often light up a room with laughter. One of his favorite pastimes was hosting large gatherings where he delighted family and friends with his cooking and entertaining.

Mark is survived by his three children, Drew McGlinchey (Jana), Jill Thomas (Jerry), Molly Clauss (Adam); longtime companion, Nancy Yelton; and two sisters, Marilyn Schwegman and Joanie Tanksley (David); as well as grandchildren (Barbara, Alec, Gus, Lyla, Nora, Jake & Oakes); nineteen nieces and nephews; and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara McGlinchey; parents, Francis and Eloise McGlinchey; brothers, Terry McGlinchey and David McGlinchey; sisters, Angie Matthews and Connie Schneeberger; and daughter-in-law, Lyla McGlinchey.

A visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 PM at Shirley Brothers Irving Hill Chapel, 5377 East Washington Street on Monday, July 8th. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Indianapolis on Tuesday, July 9th at 10:00 AM, followed by graveside services at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, and then a peace meal. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Our Lady of Lourdes. .
